High Nutrition Food Diary - January 1, 2009

First food diary entry of the year. I had only two meals today. After sleeping late and walking the dog, I had breakfast. I then did some work, did a two hour workout, took a nap and had dinner.

Breakfast
Special Oatmeal
1 cup oatmeal
1 banana sliced
4 dates - chopped
2 oz baby spinach
a dash of nutmeg and cinnamon
1 cup water
1/2 cup cranberry juice

Put the banana, dates and spinach in the bottom of a large cereal bowl. Add oatmeal and spices. Add liquid and mix together

Heat in microwave for 4 minutes.

Dinner

Red beans and brown rice
Trail mix for dessert

Howard, First of all you need to learn how to spell "cinnamon" Some of the finest food in the whole world is in the French Quarter. For you to have Red Beans and Rice for dinner is a real commitment.

I returned from the French Quarter on December 29, so the Red Beans and Rice dish was created in our kitchen. It was quite good. The French Quarter has some fine restaurants, Sophia, for example. Sophia made a great meal for me. Muriel's was bad. Restaurants are hit and miss for me, but about half the time I get great meals.
