PSA Tests Shown to Overdiagnose Prostate Cancer
The New York Times Health Section this morning reported on a study that shows that as many as 40% of the men who undergo a PSA exam have been "overdiagnosed" for prostate cancer. The study was done at Erasmus University Medical Center in the Netherlands. These men are told that they have prostate cancer even though these cancers are too slow growing to be life threatening.
