High Nutrition Food Diary - January 2, 2009

I had two meals again today.

Breakfast
Green Smoothie
1/2 cup carrot juice
1 medium banana
1 small apple sliced
5 dates
1 ml DHA Purity (a vegan form of Omega 3 oil purchased at www.drfuhrman.com)
1 tbsp ground flax seeds
1 cup of mixed frozen berries
5 oz baby spinach
3 ice cubes

Put carrot juice, banana apple, dates, DHA, flax seeds in a blender and blend until smooth. Add frozen berries and blend until smooth Add ice cubes and then slowly add the spinach. Turning the blender on and off helps mix the spinach leaves into the smoothie. Blend until smooth and creamy.

This is my breakfast most mornings. I vary the ingredients most every day, but this is the basic recipe.

Dinner
AlooTiki (Sp?) with baby spinach and brussel sprouts

I don't know the recipe for this one but it is an Indian dish composed of mashed potatoes, chickpeas and spices made into patties and baked. Excellent The patties were served over a bed of baby spinach and also served with lightly sauteed brussel sprouts with onions.

This was one of my wife's masterpieces.

I snacked on raw trail mix after both meals. Had a banana and orange during the evening.
